Juniper Barn is our Ireland Wedding Venue for the month of May. This is an amazing barn venue in Sligo and the perfect spot for modern couples to have an intimate celebration surrounded by family and friends. The venue is family run and I just love the personal vibe. You can rent the venue exclusively for weddings, events, and festivals. Juniper Barn just holds 10-15 weddings per year from May -September. So early bookings are recommended.

Tell us about Juniper Barn?
Juniper Barn is located on the Newpark Estate where Christopher and Dorothy-Ellen live with their young family. There are three beautiful stone barns all dating from 1780 which are used for weddings, corporate events, conferences, concerts and festivals. The barns are surrounded by mature trees, formal gardens and a lake with its resident swans. It’s a truly magical place full of nature and history.
Where is Juniper Barn located?
We are located in the beautiful countryside of South Sligo. We are 20 mins from Sligo town or 2 hours from the M50 in Dublin.
What’s the capacity for weddings?
We love to host intimate weddings for 50 – 100 guests.
Can you hold ceremonies?
Absolutely! We are HSE approved and love to host civil, humanist or spiritual ceremonies.
Do you offer catering services?
We offer the barns on an exclusive hire basis and provide a list of caterers we ‘recommend. It allows you to pick interesting food options such as BBQ, vegan or traditional depending on your preference. It allows so much flexibility, our couples love it. Your caterer organises all the logistics, staff and makes it easy to have the food you really love on your special day.
How long has Juniper Barn been open?
The house and gardens have long been used for family weddings but our first guest wedding was in 2019.
What should couples know before choosing their wedding venue?
Trust your instincts. Choose a venue that suits your vibe! If you want somewhere fun, relaxed and rustic then Juniper Barn is for you. We offer something different to a traditional hotel venue, that suits a lot of people these days.
Tell me something about Juniper Barn which I can’t find in your brochure?
That the ceremony barn used to be a turf shed piled high with turf to warm the house and the Swallow Barn used to be a lambing shed!
Does Juniper Barn support a certain wedding theme?
Rustic, boho elegance. The barns are ancient stone buildings from 1780 so their rustic beauty and craftsmanship speak for themselves. We light firepits at night and we are surrounded by trees and starlight.

Do you offer accommodation?
We have a newly renovated gate lodge that sleeps two which is popular with couples as a cozy romantic retreat.
What’s the best season to get married at your venue?
We love May when the bluebells are out and the trees are vividly green but then the formal gardens are so colourful during the summer and the autumn hues are stunning here. Anytime from May – October really!
What’s the most memorable wedding you have hosted?
There have been a few, we had some special covid weddings for six people that were just was so intimate and a memorable boho garden party with oysters and champagne on the lawn was also amazing!
