INFUSION is a destination wedding planner in Ireland. Our focus is on designing intimate wedding experiences around a couple’s uniqueness.
The story of Intimate weddings
For starters, intimate weddings are events that usually have a maximum guest count of 75 and emphasize a low-key style. A small, garden wedding is a perfect example. Maybe you’re wondering, “Why would I want to go for an intimate event when I can go for a big one?” Let us unravel the allure of intimate affairs.
There are several reasons you should consider an intimate wedding, one of which is that it allows you to showcase your personality as a couple, and secondly, you get more unique locations to choose from. One example is my first-ever brand shoot for INFUSION at the Howth Castle wedding venue. This property is nestled in floral gardens and grounds of over 250 acres, near the village of Howth overlooking Dublin Bay, about 9 miles north of Dublin.
The couple dreamed about a botanical-inspired intimate wedding, and since the venue is surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful flora, it was the ideal location for the event. To create a gorgeous contrast to the venue’s natural beauty, I curated the aesthetic with INFUSION’s brand colours: dark green, rust, and aramanth pink. The result? A combination that awakes awe-inspiring emotions and magnificence. The couple loved every detail of it!
I wanted to impress the couple with centrepieces, so I paired coloured glassware with gold accents and contemporary menu cards. It was challenging, but the end result did highlight the majesty of the Howth Castle wedding venue perfectly. The guests reckon it was unique and appealing.
Style Aesthetics
I wanted the aesthetic to be aligned with that outdoor feeling, so I made sure the flower centrepiece was colourful and loosely put together, giving a whimsical yet soothing touch. What’s a garden wedding without the relaxed ambience, right? The floral design was foam-free and in a vintage bowl, which also added a vintage flair. The rust came really through with the coloured runner. Another highlight was the golden candleholder with taper candles from Esther & Erik which elevated the table design. Simple yet elegant Chiavari chairs added a laid-back look to the setting. I was firmly inspired to create a table plan that is in line with our vision and values. Putting several lifestyle images together helped me achieve that goal.
If you look at the whole essence, the cosy and romantic aesthetic – the purpose of an intimate wedding is to create real, personal moments with your guests. You want to offer them a personal experience that you can’t otherwise achieve if you choose a larger event. There should be a real focus on the guest experience and this kind of wedding embodies intimacy.
A small garden wedding gives you a space that allows you more flexibility, helps you establish a comfortable environment, and even gives you the opportunity to save money.
