What to include on your wedding website?

Planning your wedding is the most exciting part of being engaged, but it can also be overwhelming. Your to-do list mushroomed into an endless cycle of details and chores, and you have started googling everything wedding-related. But this time, you’re not just looking for inspiration — you’re looking for real answers. You want to know specific things like what is included on a wedding website.

On your wedding website, you can include as much information as you like. Maybe your site has a lot of pages to fill with content because you’ve got a ton of wedding suppliers covering everything from food and drink to photography and entertainment. Maybe your site only contains the bare minimum, so you don’t overwhelm guests with too much information. Either way, there are some pages that should be on every wedding website.

A Schedule Of Events

It’s critical that this be easy to find and read, so keep it simple with just a few bullet points detailing each event during the day or evening. You don’t have to include every single detail, but it’s helpful if guests know what time each event starts and ends so they can plan accordingly.

Venue Information

Make sure that you include information about:

  • where the ceremony will be held
  • where the reception will be held
  • how many guests can fit into each space
  • whether there is parking available nearby
  • any other important details about venue logistics that guests need to know before making travel plans to attend your wedding day

A Photo Gallery

A photo gallery is another must-have item on your wedding website. This gives visitors a chance to see photos from the past and present, as well as get an idea of what your big day will look like. You can add thematic elements here as well — such as different colors for each season or event — so that guests can easily find what they’re looking for without having to scroll through hundreds of pictures.

Links To Local Attractions And Accommodations

Many couples will include links to local attractions such as restaurants, hotels, and other points of interest in their area. This can help guests plan their trip appropriately so they don’t waste time looking for places close by when they arrive at the wedding venue.

Directions/Transportation/Parking

If you live in a city or town with great public transportation, then you should definitely include this information. If not, or if you’re having guests drive from far away, then include directions on how to get to your venue as well as parking options (if applicable).

RSVP Card through your wedding website

It’s never too early to start collecting RSVPs. Your guests will be more likely to respond if they can do so online and you’ll have a better idea of how many people to expect. This also gives them a chance to let you know if they need accommodations or have any dietary restrictions that need to be taken into account.

Dress Code

Since you won’t be able to see every guest at your wedding in person, it’s a good idea to make sure they know what dress code will be expected. Leave them with no surprises by including a line on your website that details appropriate attire. For example, a Black tie is preferred, but all other cocktail attire is welcome.

Introduce your Bridal Party

This is a great way to include your family members and bridal party in the planning process. Tell a funny story or let them know about the connection you have with your bridal party. This will be a great celebration of your big day.

My favourite tool for putting your wedding website together is WEDSITES. It’s very intuitive and has great features to manage your guest list and RVSP.

A wedding website is a great way to display all the information you have on your big day, and fun to make too. By including family photos and lots of information like registry information, and a honeymoon fund, you can help people celebrate your special day more fully. One thing that makes this place much different than just having a blog is that rather than just an article, it is basically an entire website complete with posts, events, galleries, and even multiple pages. As you can see, building up your wedding website links to both photos as well as other resources. So take some time to put together a really nice one in line with your wedding design!
