I had the pleasure of chatting with Catherine Linde, a wedding photographer based in Dublin. We share our interest in all kinds of mindsets and being obsessed with love languages. I always enjoy reading her inspiring posts.

Tell us about your business?

I am a Destination Wedding Photographer, based in Dublin, Ireland.

What led you to photography?

I’ve always known I was destined to be in the creative industry. Authenticity and self-expression are the pinnacle of my existence and always wanting to create and surround myself with my version of beauty, and I truly believe my personality is the perfect match for life as a photographer.

What keeps you passionate about weddings?

I feel it’s my duty to make sure I use my unique gifts as a photographer and artist to help tell the story of people’s love. This keeps me passionate about weddings because I can show up serve a very special way.

How long have you been in business?

I have been in the business for 8 years.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in things that gives me a sense of meaning, purpose, and connection like; Good self-care, connecting with others, making a positive impact on those around me, doing something creative and meaningful, feeling settled in my identity, giving good advice and seeing it help others and knowing what I’m striving for.

What should couples know before hiring a photographer?

Pick a photographer whose personality matches yours. Your wedding photographer will be spending a LOT of time arms-length away from you on your wedding day, so hire someone who has the right personality that matches yours.

What sets you apart in your field?

If you know me, you will know, I truly believe in love languages. One of mine is acts of service, with that being said I feel it’s my duty to make sure all of my couples know how hard I always work for them and prove my appreciation to them during and long after our shoot.

What common mistakes do you see couples making?

Common mistakes I see couples making when booking a wedding photographer is finding a photographer whose style speaks to them. Not every photographer has the same shooting or editing style, and that’s a good thing! It means that when you hire someone, you are hiring them because you genuinely love their photographic style! Light + airy? Natural? Classic? Documentary? Bright + punch? Or Dark and moody?

What’s your best advice for couples planning a wedding?

Early planning and research! Early planning is a key part of the wedding planning process. It is also the phase that can quickly be brushed over in favor of more exciting tasks. It is essential you are both on the same page regarding your wedding day, in terms of budget and size, and style. What’s the most memorable wedding you have ever worked on?

Every wedding I get to be a part of and share in the journey of my couples is memorable. Each with its own unique story and characters and style.

Outside of photography, tell us about yourself?

When I’m not out photographing some of the most beautiful souls on the planet, you can usually find me watching New Girl; a plant-based recipe developing in my kitchen or creating a space for friends to dwell in our home. Jurie and I love being outdoors, but also snuggling up on the couch. I’m always looking for the newest home decor, the next dog to pet, anything natural like wildflowers to dry. And whether you and I are getting vulnerable over oat milk flat whites, hitting the road for an adventure, or telling your story through photos, I’m here to make sure you feel fully seen and deeply loved.
