Weddings are a celebration of love that happens once in a lifetime, but that is not always the case. Some couples are dedicated to having a vow renewal to commemorate their marriage. There are simply so many reasons why some decide to renew their vows for each other. It can be because they want to make it up for having a small wedding or elopement, or they are simply crazy for each other. That was the case with this wildly romantic cliffside renewal that I was able to plan and style, a couple who love each other so much that they want to have another day to celebrate their love.
What is a vow renewal?
It is purely ceremonial and it is meant to reaffirm their love for each other. Also, this is a popular act on anniversaries, but there are no actual rules as to when it should be done. You don’t even need to wait for a milestone to renew your vows once again.
What is Agnes & Remus’ story?
Agnes & Remus knew from the very start that they were soulmates. They are both passionate about adventures that they are mostly out in nature, exploring. If not, they’ll be at home cooking and enjoying great food together. They are just so compatible with each other. This is why it was only natural that this wild-at-heart couple fell in love instantly in the most intimate way possible.
Since our couple are both so in love with each other, they decided to tie the knot at the age of 19 while they were in Ireland. Although, they weren’t able to plan their wedding since their family had it all ready back in Lithuania. Indeed, they were grateful to be married, but somehow they felt that they didn’t get the wedding of their dreams. This makes their vow renewal even more special. Happy to say that they finally got what they wanted to – celebrating their love in the wild, in the way they’ve always dreamed of.
It was an absolute must for the couple not to have restrictions on how they were going to renew their vows. They wanted to keep it genuine and focus more on what is essential – them as a couple. What they really wanted was an intimate ceremony with just the two of them with meaningful handfasting in a setting that will leave you in awe – Howth/Sutton Cliffs.
How to style a boho vow renewal?
When it comes to a boho-themed celebration, the styling should be toned down to let the beauty of the location stand out. This makes this style stunning in the most effortless way, since you already have the nature to make your celebration unforgettable.
Since the couple had a dramatic landscape of the Howth/Sutton Cliffs, it already provided the perfect backdrop for them to exchange their self-penned vows for each other. I made sure to accentuate the place with an earth-toned colour palette to make it stand out even more.
In addition to that, another thing that made their boho vow renewal special are their outfits. They both look amazing, with Agnes wearing a flowy tulle gown with a cape-meets-veil detail by Mizz Rio that was absolutely dreamy. Her statement earrings from Kinn Óir completed her entire look that day. On the other hand, Remus was such a debonaire with his outfit.
Remember, a vow renewal is special. It should be curated the way you want it, no matter what. It is a milestone, after all!
